Recently I did a post about AniTube and how it's really a pile of Normies talking about Normie-tier shit. It should be no surprise that the parallel fan scene of channels that deal in Western media--Spacedock, Eckhart's Ladder, Templin Institute, Generation Tech, etc.--are just as useless for anything that is not Normie-tier. (It took years of badgering to get Spacedock to cover any anime, and--again--he stuck to the most Normie-tier stuff: Cowboy Bebop and Space Battleship Yamato.)
As with AniTube, analysis of how these channels and their operators talk about what they cover reveals that--with a few exceptions--they don't read. For the gaming channels, that's (more or less) forgivable; for lore/information channels, it is not. As with AniTube, they do not go out of their way for anything; they talk about what they talk about because it got shoved into their face by the mainstream media, and anything that isn't shoved in their face might as well not exist.
That's right, the Trash Taste crew have their counterparts in the Geeks & Gamers crowd.
This is a big problem that plays into why these channels, and the scene they foster, are a holding pen for the Pop Cult and thus for the Death Cult. This holding pen keeps those dissatisfied with mainstream Western pop culture in thrall with the Pop Cult by means of impotent complaining that just makes you a punching bag for the Death Cultists running these rackets, holding out one false hope after the next that "it'll turn around and we'll get our fun thing back", instead of accepting the reality that your fun thing is dead, and is now a zombie run by a necromancer that hates you.
That enabling of delusion is what keeps a lot of people who would be otherwise seeking a solution from doing so. (It also isn't wholly effective; look at how desperate they are to either choke off or corrupt Anime, Manga, and Japanese videogames- those are alternatives that have found a massive audience.)
Marvel, D.C., the Devil Mouse, etc.- they cannot be saved; they must be destroyed.
The enemy knows that Normies don't work for their entertainment; they don't do Git Gud and they aren't curious so they don't seek things out, which means that if you don't toil to thrust what you have to offer into their faces, then they will not even consider the possibility that alternatives even exist--several of the aforementioned channels didn't even know that Japan had long-running Space Opera classics of their own because Normie-tier entertainment media never talked about them.
Our YouTube media fan channels are as feckless, ignorant, and pants-on-head retarded as our governments are. Their only merit is, so far, a lack of malicious intent towards the people they purport to serve. However, due to their Normie-tier content and Normie-acceptable presentation, they possess outsized influence compared to how big these operations actually are- and cunning villains like the Devil Mouse recognize this and exploit it to their advantage.
If the indies are to do more than publish and hold fast for however long it takes for these zombie megacorporations to collapse, then the indie sphere needs to start shoving stuff into Normie faces. That means stepping up the media game--YouTube channels, podcasts, etc. with whatever algorthimic fuckery is required to get that stuff into Normie feeds--and escalating the Narrative Warfare to get the word--which we must control--into their ears and our pictures before their eyes.
Razorfist cut his rant about the inevitable fall of Hollywood cape films.
First, he's not wrong. Hollywood consumes genres over roughly 10-20 year cycles. That goes longer depending on source material, quality of adaptations, quality of execution, and cultural conditions creating demand therefore. There isn't that much good source material--especially now--when compared to Film Noir, Westerns, War, or Spy/Caper films. The execution has only been good consistently in the MCU (until now), and the conditions for capes is already shifting away from promoting the demand. That Endgame did prove to be prophetic was obvious to anyone familiar with how the Hellmouth works.
Second, while this is a typical Hollywood genre cycle, this factors into the larger decline of the West brought about by Death Cult convergence and its irrational incompetence. There should be another major genre waiting in the wings to break out and keep the business rolling, but there isn't because the institional convergence into the hands of said cult results in the promotion of incompetent cult loyalists that cannot even put out propaganda that people want to watch or read.
The proof of this is the overwhelming success of non-converged mainstream media that otherwise would be dismissed as terminally stupid--e.g. Pratt's Tommorrow War--merely by being sincere entertainment works with non-Death Cult narratives as well as media from non-converged rivals to Hollywood such as Japan, Russia, India, and even (some may say especially) China. Then there is the independent scene in the West, which is where dissidents can and do thrive if they can find an audience.
Film, television, comics, novels- all of them are seeing this happen, starting first with more online-savvy cohorts and spreading out to Normies over time. Demon Slayer fits this model very well, as both its film/TV and its comic versions utterly dominate Death Cult alternatives wherever it can be had.
This cannot be going unnoticed by the Death Cultists in senior management across the industry. What can be going on is stupefication over how and why--it runs contrary to their narrative--and thus heretofore ineffectual or nonexistent attempts to thwart this threat to their domination. Once something not just non-Death Cult, but explicitly anti-Death Cult comes to their attention we can expect an apopletic response out of these converged institutions.
As I said previously, the Death Cult must have a monopoly on the narrative. Right now, they don't. If they cannot converge these rivals into loyal Cult outlets, then they will attempt to destroy them. If they cannot destroy them, then they will move to cut off access to them by the population they seek to subjugate- to erect their own Great Firewall and do as China has successfully done for its own subject population.
Yes, I said "successfully". Try to convince some visiting ChiCom kid that Tiannemen Square happened and see what they do. Narrative monopolies work very well.
With audiences tuning out of Hollywood capes, and audiences tuning out of Mouse Wars, Fake Trek, Not My Who, etc. in droves they are finding alternatives that satisfy their wants and the Death Cult can't have that. They just aren't willing to admit that they are under threat yet and act accordingly; you'll know they are when they move to choke and censor all non-converged media, usually under some form of "hate speech" or "protecting people" excuse since no one gives a shit about the lie that is Muh Piracy anymore.
Be glad that the enemy is not competent, just cunning and ruthless.
Geek Gab returns from its Summer holiday with an all-new episode talking about Loki, The Tomorrow War and more with Dorrinal and Daddy Warpig.
All this, and Daddy Warpig's signature ranting, awaits today on Geek Gab. I'll be in the live chat, and so will the other regulars, so be there if you can.
The Supreme Dark Lord, Vox Day, reveals that Arkhaven Comics is ready to exploit the faltering Big Two (DC & Marvel) of American comics.
And while we can't announce firm numbers yet, thanks to the hard work by the Arkhaven team and our Brazilian partners, we are presently planning to provide between 100 and 120 episodes per month from day one of launch, which is presently scheduled for March. And yes, that means multiple new episodes every single day, seven days a week. Some of the material will be familiar to those who were on Webtoons, but a lot of it will be entirely new. These digital editions will supplement, not replace, our plans for print editions, as the cover to the right suggests. If you backed something, you will receive it, right down to the gold logos if applicable.
The launch titles will include, but are not limited to: Alt-Hero, Alt-Hero: Q, Chuck Dixon's Avalon, A Throne of Bones, Shade, Quantum Mortis, Hypergamouse, Midnight's War, Swan Knight's Saga, Right Ho Jeeves, The Awakener, The Hammer of Freedom, The Legend of Boia, Go Monster Go, Cosmic Warrior, Clockwork Dancer, Flying Sparks, and Lieutenant Bravo.
Diamond, the distributor with a monopoly on American comics distribution (and handling boardgame and tabletop RPG, etc. stuff also), has ceased taken product. This includes DC and Marvel. The American comic shop scene, already on fire, just had gasoline poured on it.
I cannot care less.
The collapse being spoken of in the above video is a part of the larger collapse of the Western entertainment business, which is a rotten zombie corpse now experience a failure cascade as its putrescence reaches critical mass and body parts start falling off. What those bemoaning the collapse don't understand is that the ghettoization of American comics via comic shops has the same effect that killing the Pulps did in ghettoizing science fiction: it allowed ideologues to seize control and turn it into its current form, albeit in a process done in steps over time.
And that, naturally, has meant that the shops themselves became reflecting of what's sold in them over time. Don't tell me that it's not; I've been there and seen with my own eyes, so I won't have folks gainsaying me on this. Just as American comics generally have ceased to justify their existence, so has the infrastructure erected to sell them. Burn it all to ash and replace it with something that actually satisfies the audience and regenerates the culture again.
No, I won't miss the comic shops. They ceased to be fit for purpose a long time ago; it's only now that the inertia has finally worn down enough to bring it all to a stop.
That's not all I won't miss. First one of the Big 5 is in its death throws, now this, and maybe the movie theater business collapses also.
Author and friend of the Retreat David Stewart took the time to talk about some Pop Cult stupidity by Kevin Smith.
Two points to take away here:
Pop Culture is not sufficient to replace religion.
Folks have done it anyway, and religious thinking is being applied to it, hence why we have a Pop Cult.
This is not surprising, as Dragon Award winner and multiple-time nominee Brian Niemeier observed some time ago. While lacking all of the qualities of a religion, the Pop Cult has just enough to suck people lacking one into it and thus diverting energy otherwise given to that religion to it instead.
As a test, I made this comment in several Comment threads on Doomcock videos decrying Corporate/SJW control of a pop cult idol: "Call it heresy and be done with it." Every time I get that comment highlighted and upvotes are high; if I wanted to be a Redddit karma whore, this would be one want to farm it. I have yet to get any stick for putting it this way; it shows to my satisfaction that they do engage in psuedo-religious fervor over these idols.
I could probably say the exact same thing with other fan channel whine-fest videos with near-identical results.
And I maintain that the problem is that this is idol worship. It's why they are unwilling to just switch to alternatives that aren't so messed up, and it's that idol worship that makes Pop Cultists vulnerable to recruitment into the Death Cult.
Marvel Studios took the time at the San Diego Comic Con to announce the slate of films and related projects that comprise Phase Four. The moment that many of us foresaw would be the case after Endgame has come at last: Woke Marvel's arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Supreme Dark Lord made a big announcement today regarding this fantastic film project. If you missed the trailer, here it is again:
The project is funded; this is to hit the Stretch Goal. The project's aim is this:
Viral Films Media LLC is a new film company with the business purpose of creating a single live-action superhero film – Rebel’s Run – based on characters from the Alt-Hero comic book universe created by Vox Day and Arkhaven Comics. We founded Viral Films Media to provide an alternative to the major Hollywood studios.
VFM is producing a film based on a new superhero universe offering a range of original characters, great stories and themes that aim to impact and influence the culture of today.
VFM’s production of Rebel’s Run aims to demonstrate that a small independent start-up can challenge and outdo Hollywood. Rebel's Run will present audiences with a bold and exciting new vision of the superhero. In the place of yet another remake of a comic book from the 1940s, Rebel's Run will introduce a new comics universe full of entirely new superheroes to the screen, with fearless storytelling inspired by a game-changing, counter-cultural spirit.
The World Class Bullshitters, back from Star Wars Celebration, cut this video on everyone's favorite woke MCU cast member.
This is who Marvel Studios pinned their hopes on. Nevermind the usual knocks about under-qualified actresses getting roles too demanding of them; Brie being woke enough was sufficient. I'd never seen someone so contrary to Hollywood's emphasis on glamour somehow rise to prominence; she's got friends getting her gigs because she mouths platitudes those friends want out there. Despite all her SJW bullshit clunking with resounding thuds, causing PR problems across the planet. No one likes her.
Here's my take on this: her supporters know no one likes her, so pushing her like this is a deliberate Fuck You play.
Someone above Feige in the Disney corporate network pushed Brie on him, despite statements to the contrary. Now we get to watch the MCU implode in record time. All because this unlikeable bitch gets shoved in our faces for Muh Wokeness. Wallet closed, walking away, done after Endgame. Get out of my life, Larson. No one likes you.
Razorfist released a rant on a new Doom movie no one wanted or asked for.
This is not just a right-retention movie. It's also a tax writeoff for the parties concerned, and that they could shove some SJW bullshit in the process is just gravy for these people. Spreading the Narrative was not top priority here; keeping control over an IP that has some hotness going for it was. Razorfist is on target here, and that's why I've already filed this film away under "Not even if they pay me to watch it." This film is an inversion, but not purposefully so. This is incompetence on display more than malice.
No, if you want a film where the SJW Narrative was the top priority, look to Brightburn. This movie inverts the Superman mythology into a horror film, complete with Clark as Always Chaotic Evil Demigod. Both trailers make it crystal clear that this is a Superman movie, but inverting everything so as to make Supes into a Cthulhu-grade villain.
As I said earlier this week, deliberate destruction of a culture's heroes is a display of dominance meant to demoralize them. That's what Brightburn does, using just enough obfuscation to provide legal deniability vis-a-vis DC claiming copyright infringement, and while this film isn't going to have the reach of a blockbuster it has all of the things that the film festival crowd--which includes a lot of people who make blockbusters--want out of a film. In short, this film is a Proof of Concept for a superhero subversion that would complement the SJW convergence of Marvel's films and give DC a reason to do the same.
The only question that remains is what "heroes" replace those subverted and destroyed in our media like this. Brie Larson's take on Carol Manboobs is the mildest example of what to expect; we can look forward to worse if this is not stopped. Supporting those willing and able to uphold true heroism in defense of Civilization is more important now than it was previously, as this is a clear sign of the acceleration of the SJW agenda. The incompetents like this Doom movie only provide cover for the real subversives like Brightburn; the sooner we can Fork & Replace them, the better.
Our friends at World Class Bullshitters put out a lunchtime video on Captain Marvel.
Jeff's got it right. This is a mediocre film being hyped as the Second Coming, and all the bad Public Relations surrounding this film is what's going to sink it. I fully expect the same thing that we saw with The Last Jedi to repeat here, and for the same reasons. I went into the bigger reasons for why this is going down yesterday at Empire Must Fall, which you can find here.
Let's get a bit more specific here. Why is the Mouse doing this to the only other film franchise they have that's worth a damn?
For that, let me again point back to a previous Empire post, this about the aforementioned Mouse Wars film:
Anciently, when a conqueror completes a conquest one of the things done do cement control and establish dominance is to change the mythology of the conquered nation. Their heroes get degraded, their deeds defiled, and the conqueror's heroes supercede them in all ways- often with ease. To the generation surviving the conquest, this is insult added to injury, but left unchecked the generations that follow will accept this degenerate mythology as normal- and if the conqueror is wise, they leave an out for the subjects to go all the way and buy into their control. It's the mythological equivalent of killing a man, taking his wife for oneself, and slaughtering his children by her before seeding your own to both remove loose ends and make her accept the conquest as inescapable.
The people running the House of Mouse hate the West and Christianity. It's that simple. They're doing this to signify, by symbolic manipulation, that you're a conquered people due to be displaced and replaced by them and their agents. The comics side of this was the dry run, the shakedown cruise, to see if they could pull it off; as far as the Social Justice Death Cult is concerned, they can and they have, so now they're scaling up to the film versions. Expect all of the outgoing characters to get degraded in fundamental, if subtle, ways before being yanked off the stage for good; expect their replacements to wear the iconic legacies like grotesque skinsuits as they ape the actions without any of the substance that gave the prior actions meaning.
Yes, the people who make those new movies and characters happen will be incompetent. That will be by design; film and TV is a deliberate process by its nature, starting with the producers and other stakeholders. If they want to symbolically degrade before destroying and replacing heroes with their own, putting fuckups in positions to do that and cutting them checks is how you deniably do that thing. This is Basic Bitch Narrative Warfare. You change the stories, warping the past to create the present and put out the future you want to happen, and fuck the other guy. It's straight up 1984, coupled with the insult that many will be compelled to lie so blatantly about what's going on if they want to stay employed.
While the Bullshitters are focused on getting clean entertainment back, and by that they mean "No Propaganda", I know damn well it's worse than that. Fortunately, normies are not yet wholly indoctrinated; they vote with wallets and feet, so I expect a repeat of the aforementioned Mouse Wars film's box office crash and burn next weekend and those to follow. So, I suspect, does the Mouse; Endgame is a month and a half away for a reason, and that has to do with making this film's performance irrelevant in fiscal terms so its narrative impact can be maximized without fear.
This is why you have got to stop being paypigs to these people. Stop giving them your money and your attention. There are alternatives, especially from overseas, such as My Hero Academia if you want superheroes made by people that like you and want to entertain you. Domestic alternatives include Jon del Arroz's Flying Sparks, and there's more to come out of the indie world. Walk away from Omelas, folks, before you find yourself to be the forsaken child powering the utopia.
In a follow-up to Razor's preview video, here's the review. No need to make you wait. Just turn it on and watch.
The fear was SJW Showrunner Shoehorned SJW Bullshit. The result was SJW Showrunner incompetently apes superior peers and predecessors at attempts to be artsy while shoehorning SJW Bullshit. In short, we have a season of uneven quality born of bad material not being edited out at the pre-shooting stage (i.e. writing) because the writer is an ideologue for a Satanic religion and decided to turn an entertainment program into a propaganda outlet. This--using such a medium to bald-faced lie, at a fundamental level, to the audience in a manner to advance discivic and disgenic ends--is inexcusable and not to be rewarded. Hard Pass Confirmed.
The turn came before this point, but we're now seeing that Captain Marvel is where the poz took hold for certain. The MCU has had mistakes due to the SJWs elsewhere exerting influence, but now they're inside the studio and convergence comes good and hard. What's below is excerpt from the World Class Bullshitters' morning show, "Good Morning Pop Culture", and addresses this.
In short, I fully expect a repeat of Black Panther: lots of sound and fury, lots of flash, and then forgotten until the character appears in Avengers 4.
That's not good. No movie lead should be so forgettable, and neither should it inspire contempt in the target audience, but we can expect that from this film due to the politics surrounding it. No, the lead actress isn't doing herself, the film, or the franchise any favors with her behavior to date (or in the future since she hasn't gotten the memo yet).
At this rate we can expect a collapse mirroring that of the Star Wars franchise in a fraction of the time once the original cadre of film stars leave the franchise, and when that happens we can expect the Bullshitters to document the merchandise's failure as they have for the once-great brainchild of Uncle George (as we can see here)>. Unless Feige unfucks himself, the MCU is doomed; seeing a franchise rises and fall in just over a decade is something business schools a generation or so hence will study to see why SJW cultism (in whatever form it takes later on) is not good for business.
How do you know when you're winning? When your enemies try to make you look and feel bad by doing a Take That Straw Man villain of you in their material, but overdo it and make you cooler than Char Aznable and thus them look like the pathetic shits they really are in the process. Behold the epic own-goal that is Marvel's attempt to make Vox Day look bad:
Of course the Supreme Dark Lord noticed. He's flattered, and I concur that this is an "of course" move by SJW-converged Marvel Comics that they do take Arkhaven Comics as a threat. Why? This comment at Vox Populi nails it:
Given the lead times of most comics of around 6 months, the FreeStartr campaign ending in October (and the several months lead up to that), we're right in line with them deciding to make Vox a villain when he moved to get into comics.
This is intentional. And some free advertising.
This is another sign that the Culture War in the United States turns against the Left. Decisions like this are freak-out reactions, not logical policy moves. What this decision reveals is that the SJWs use the Inhumans much like they use the Mutants: as stand-ins for themselves collectively. ("We not normal! We're special and unique individuals who have to get away from the normies to survive and thrive!") Just as anti-Mutant genocides are used by SJWs as Rhetorical screeds against Civilization (whatever the actual substance may be), so is this a veiled screed by the SJWs against Vox Day- and the confirmation will be if any other related tells show up. ("Vile Minions", "Dread Ilk", etc.)
Now to see if DC Comics, Image, or IDW put out something similar. SJWs tend to coordinate their hit-pieces, so if Marvel's doing this then we can expect more of the same to come out of seemingly-independent (even opposed) outlets in short order. I hope they do; nothing would make me happier than knowing that the SJWs in comics fear Vox Day and what he can do- having seen what he's done to their friends in Traditional SF/F Publishing to date. Go on, SJWs. make me laugh like Ivan Throne.
And they waste valuable time on Muh Privilege, signalling that this show, MCU TV, and increasingly all of the MCU is not to be taken seriously as entertainment. If you want your money to go to people who hate you and want to lecture you to death, you're a damned fool; crazy street preachers do that for free and you can troll them back.
You've got Ethan Van Scrier, the Diversity & Comics guy, Arkhaven Comics, and more out there keeping alive the real comics that entertained generations before the smart money left and the SJWs arrived. Find something one of them does that you like and give your money to that guy instead. Turn your back on an MCU that doesn't care about you and let it burn itself to death by its incompetence.
In the meantime, at least you've got My Hero Academia and One-Punch Man to keep you busy until the new and faithful indies produce a renewed wave of TV and film adaptations. Go read and watch those for your superhero itches.
That's Brie Larson, star of the upcoming Captain Marvel. She's already gotten flak for failing to protect the necessary heroic stature for the title role, and instead of saying "I will do better so I can entertain you properly." she's virtue-signalling like the usual hateful, bile-filled bitter-shitter we see too much out of Hollywood these days.
That MCU head Kevin Feige has not come out and dropped the hammer on Larson says enough, but if that wasn't enough then word of SJW token Ms. Marvel (the Muslim girl and SJW mouthpiece) being on the deck for introduction in the wake of Cap's debut should be plenty of warning that the MCU is about to be fully converged. Bail out now. Skip the Ant-Man sequel (it's as you expected) and start making your way out entirely.
Today's Geek Gab featured Jim Fear and talked Jordan Peterson, Diversity & Comics, the continuing collapse of the Big Two in comics, and more. There's nothing on, so queue it up and have a good time- including we who were in the live chat, since Chat Replay is now a thing.
BONUS UPDATE!
The schedule for this year's slate of E3 presentations is up, and I'm posting it below:
Here's an updated worldwide timetable of #E3 2018 press conferences thus far. Updates will be posted here as more are announced. pic.twitter.com/DuGgcrlKax
"This week we cover the colossal success of The Avengers and the embarrassment that is Star Wars."
If Jim Fear shows you that you can have a good influence on the culture with a one-man band podcast, then the World Class Bullshitters show you what a small, dedicated crew focused on a mission can do- and in rather short time. They've been at this for just a couple years of weekly podcasts, and now they're shaping pop culture narratives.
No, I'm not kidding. These goofs are actually having a real impact that's counter-acting the stupid amounts of money spent on PR by Mouse Wars, Fake Trek, and many other SJW-converged pop culture franchises. They can, and should, take credit for spreading the word on how back The Last Jedi was before it went into its first weekend. They broke wide the utter failure of Mouse Wars merch rotting on the shelves. They didn't even try, and they got some other fan channels to out themselves as Mouse Wars shills.
And their success emboldened others to go this route, to varying success.
They're being what they want to see, and what they want to see is pure fan love with an utter intolerance for bullshit and crap. The takeaway? Be what you want to see, own that, and waive that proud and loud on your flag flown high. The Bullshitters paved the way for a more love-focused engagement with the stuff we love, something not nihilistic like Plinkett (Red Letter Media) is at heart or selling out for trinkets and head-pats from Culty Kathy.
