Jeffro Johnson appeared last night on Diversity & Dragons' channel for an interview.
Love to see that Jeffro got a fair shake out of this.
Put plainly, the Bros have breached containment. Everyone that takes the time to engage with what the Bros brought back from the Memory Hole sees that the Bros are correct, that the Real Hobby is not Conventional Play, and that their enjoyment of the hobby is greatly increased by reincorporating the lost ways that the Bros brought back from the Baleful Bastion of the Boomers.
Now that the tide has turned, more useful discussions can be had and they will be had. More people will want to know what to do and how to do it. Best Practices will be broken down, properly documented, and made comprehensible for new people to easily and readily adopt for themselves to their benefit.
In the long term, this undermines the commercial viability of the hobby and that is fantastic for the hobby.
The Tabletop Adventure Game hobby needs to return to emphasizing user-created content over swiping one's card to buy something instead. The Bros are showing how to do that so when the Collapse hits there will be a cohort ready and able to address the matter where Conventional Play failed.
