My Life As A Gamer: "Curse of the Dead Gods" Now Available

My man Oliver Campbell of the Metro City Boys loves him some Roguelikes, so when he popped up on Twitch last night playing this game I took notice. It went on sale at Steam, and out of Early Access, yesterday.

It's an action game like Hades, but it looks and feels more like a Diablo clone, so it's at that pace or so with more arcade-style play. It's in that sweet spot for indie games in terms of price--at or under $20--and its System Requirements are very generous; just about any PC that can run World of Warcraft can run this at close or at max settings.

The curses are your typical Kiss/Curse mechanic and that's what serves to make you change your experience. As with Hades, there are means to sacrifice what you loot. This sacrifice, in return, grants you boons or curse removal. More curses come as you go deeper into your run, so you also have the usual risk/reward tradeoffs to make and if you judge things wrong that's it and you're done. It's also available for consoles if you prefer.

There are already reviews and Let's Play videos up at YouTube for this game if you want to know more. If action games or Roguelikes are your think, check this out and see if you like it.

Smaller game projects are killing it these days; you don't have to put up with AAA garbage anymore, so stop giving them your money and start looking for alternatives. This is one.
