In light of the Playstation State of Play today, this news matters.

It's bad on its face, but former World of Warcraft and Firefall developer Mark Kern noted that this is part of the corporate ownership shift out of Japan and into the United States. As the corporation moves West, it becomes openly Globohomo and its offerings openly serve Death Cult ends.
I say that it's bigger than that. Sony was--was--a Japanese mega-corporation. It was one of the maintstays of Japanese consumer electronics and entertainment for generations. While it extended overseas, it remained a Japanese corporation and its management reflected that. That changed when the management did.
This is a successful theft of a corporate organization from the nation that created it to a hostile alien power that will now use it to attack and destroy the creators.
It can be done to any other corporation. This is the reality of the threat of Death Cult Convergence.
They can do this to Bandai, with the predictable result of ruining and destroying key business segments such as the Gunpla segment and all the Gundam media that feeds into it, and they can do this to Shonen Jump just to shut down the alternatives to the woke comics they already control- say goodbye to Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and all your favorite seasonal waifu/moe bait.
The need for gatekeeping is real, and not confined to the level of end-users. Personnel, like it or not, is policy; purge your Death Cultists or you will lose to them.
Yes, there is a book about this. More people need to be reading it as if it could save their lives because it can.
If you haven't already, you should also have SJWs Always Lie and SJWs Always Double-Down as compliments to Corporate Cancer.
