The Culture: Dunder Does Dungeon Delving

Dunder does a dungeon solo. What happened?

Spend the end of Summer away from it all, and coming back to do a solo dungeon run for us. Not a bad way to start Autumn.

Much like Jon Mollison's videos--you are watching his stuff, right--this is Dunder using the game as if the camera was not there, talking his way through his decisions for your benefit, showing you how the game is played as best he can.

This is a simple enough game that you can play with Normies and not overwhelm them; this may not look like a game to a Normie, but it reads and plays like one so he'll be okay- put tokens and a map on the table and the cognitive trigger for "boardgame" activates and the Normie will accept it.

The knock to make against this is that it feels a lot like Heroquest or its videogame counterparts--and yes, those do exist--as done by Cheap Ass Games back when they were actually dirt-cheap.

I would put this into the Party Game category, provided that you take the time to make a deck of map cards and get some cheap tokens (hit up a craft store; you don't need minis), because of that aforementioned boardgame quality- lean into that and you have a winner.
