I am not at all surprised that things are a clusterfuck. Stephen may be the only one that's doing anything useful about Diamond, but he's still highly likely to get screwed as do most Conventional Play outlets.

Derik doesn't get that WOTC has a better sense of what the hobby wants than he does, which is why WOTC's products for Official D&D still heave closer to Real D&D than Fake D&D.

The tariffs are forcing everyone afflicted by them--which is most of Conventional Play--to abandon the usual audience of broke-as-fuck Soup Aisle sadsacks for Normies with money, which is going to ensure that the Outside-In collapse is now here and these Also-Rans and Never-Weres are now on Death Row (save for folks like Uncle Kevin at Palladium Books, who's entirely done in the US), so the Cultist and the Normies and the Hobbyists are all going to retrench around The Only Game That Matters.

No longer me just saying it's happening. They're confirming that the forces that will make this happen are now here. WOTC knows they stand to benefit big from this, as they hold The Only Network Effect That Matters, so they're going to egg this on because they're guaranteed to survive again.

The Clubhouse and Big Corpo will be all that remains.
