The Business: Still Others See That The Colony Drop Comes

Oh look, others seeing what I've seen.

Independent of myself we see observation that (a) Only D&D matters, (b) the falloff in Tabletop coincides with the rise of Vidya, and (c) Cultural Ground Zero wreaked havoc in Tabletop as it is part of the larger culture industry.

This decline also coincides with the increasing presence of the Death Cult achieving power positions in publishers, distributors, retailers, and exhibitors (i.e. conventions). Couple that with Mammon Mobsters dominating the C-Suite of The Only Company That Matters and you have everything you need to see that the colony drop is inevitable.

Due to Wizards of the Coast owning the only User Network that matters, of course The Only Game That Matters will be fine. There will be a few others that survive. But most, well over 90%? Either they die off or cease being commercial businesses, instead being hobbyist pursuits. Less overproduced slop no one plays; more terse, clean, well-written free PDFs and at-cost PODs that folks will take a chance on.
