Allow me to share some news, and then to throw some cold water on it. First, the news:
Today on the @Forbes website we cover the big shake up at the home of D&D and MTG. @rascal_news broke the story earlier this morning.https://t.co/0Iid28kt5G

Plenty of videos and articles out there, but the Conventional Play folks are celebrating. They shouldn't.
"Why shouldn't we celebrate?"
Because nothing changed. Her team is still there. Her agenda is still in action. The plan remains the same, and whomever replaces her will only make it worse for you the hobbyist gamer.
Hasbro is still on board with the plan. They're still going to abandon Tabletop for Vidya. Williams didn't fail; she succeeded. This is her reward, and if she goes back to Microsoft it would not be surprising to see her reappearing to finalize some form of acquisition deal.
"But that could change with the new CEO."
On paper, yes. In reality, LOL FUCKING NO.
Pay close attention to how that's going down. They're looking for someone that will carry out the plan that she set into motion. No other candidates matter.
If you're planning for any other scenario, you are wrong and you deserve to be crushed by the cataclysm that is about to hit.
There is no future for Conventional Play on the tabletop. Once Wizards leave, the time before it all comes down will be measured in months at best before the Cargo Cult has their islanders-on-an-exploding-volcano moment.
Vidya, Clubhouse, Quit. Those are the paths leaving this fork in the road. I'll be at the Clubhouse. Where you go is your problem.
And as for how to cope about this (and other corporations Doing The Dumbs), go read this Twitter thread.
