The problem that the Hobbyists will run into is that those obstensibly on their side will refuse to do anything to fix the problem- and may even attack the Hobbyists that do.
Raw Egg Nationalist described this as the Ned Flanders problem. As I said yesterday, this is better known as The Griller.
"I just want to grill!" is the same as "I just want to be left alone!" That means I need to tap the sign:
It's the Loser Position every single time. They need only to win once; Griller has to be left alone every single time to win. Cultists mog Grillers for a reason.
But it's not the only reason; it's just the manifestation of a far deeper problem: Grillers are Weak.
Grillers are heavily invested in Ego Defense. They are Normies, so they don't go out of their way for anything unless they are bullied into it. This is what the Death Cult does to get their compliance.
You have to do it harder to get them to act in their own (professed, not Revealed) preferences. This is because Grillers' Revealed Preferences are summarized as "Consumption as Just World Fallacy", so you have to break that Narrative frame first before you can convince them to act in their own self-interest.
The objections they raise are all born of Just World thinking: "Why should I do this? It doesn't affect me (because I Am A Good Person, and Good People don't have Bad Things happen to them), so I refuse to put in any effort at all (because only Good Things happen to Good People, and I Am Good)."
This mode of thinking also tends towards myopia and narcissism, both of which are also mock-worthy and thus able to be broken by social pressure and status attacks.
If you don't think this works, then you haven't seen how the #BROSR has broken people out of Conventional Play's Narrative framework by doing exactly as I described. Once out of the old frame, they become receptive to the new frame and upon directly experiencing the superior results they become resistant to reverting to the old one.
Don't let the Grillers shirk their responsibility. Either they get on board, or they get kicked out of the Clubhouse. Maybe they should go play videogames instead.
