I've talked about Braunstein a lot.
Of course there's the question of "Can I play this?" and the answer is "Yes." This is the ruleset that Jon Mollison mentioned in his video that I posted the other day.

"Role-playing began with the Braunstein games of the late 1960s. These converted war-games emphasized personal interactions and setting over complex rules and excessive mechanics and, now, these rules let you do the following in a world of adventure right from the pages of the histroy books (which is the best setting of all)..."
It's $2.50. It's PDF. That's a cheeseburger and fries off the Value Menu at McDonald's (with tax). Go pick this up, and if you want a print version you'll have to do it yourself. It's only 30 pages long, so you can throw that together from the office printer if you don't want to set up a guerilla listing at Lulu to make a POD version for home use.
See for yourself. You can compare what was here with what became Original D&D, Basic D&D, and Advanced D&D among other early RPG rulesets like Classic Traveller and very early Palladium.
