The problem with that episode was that more than half the broadcast was about people's issue's with the BROSR's online persona/attitude rather than the meat of how 1-1 patron gaming works.
The problem with saying that "It's all in the books..." is that even by BROSR's admission: AD&D1e books are a hot mess. Much of the BROSR's discoveries were found by inference when trying to figure out why certain rules were they way they were. Gygax had a whole lot of assumptions baked into what he wrote that he was not overly explicit about.
It didn't help that he muddied the waters himself by cranking out tons of modules that catered to the currently dominant play paradigm.
In my opinion, an ADDICT like document breaking down how 1-1 patron play works, citing chapter and verse would go a long way to shooting down a lot of the strawman arguments people throw up.
But of course that would take a bit of effort to organize and write. And it is very easy to tell someone else what to do with their time and resources when you are just some rando on the internet...
