The Business: The Pundit Shows Another Proof Of Concept That the OSR Is The Way To Go

The RPG Pundit did a review of an OSR game that came out in 2017: Raiders!

Pundit gave it a good review, and I tend to find what he likes to be worth checking out at the least so I'm going to encourage you to do so. (Click the image to go to the DriveThruRPG store page; paperbacks are $15.)

The company publishing it, Night Owl Workshop, has a lot of similar titles in that vein and I think some of them are going to tickle your fancy. Some of these titles include: Warriors of the Red Planet (inspired by Barsoom and similar Planetary Romance adventure fiction), Colonial Troopers (based on Starship Troopers and similiar fiction), and Guardians (superheroes) in addition to a lot of other OSR stuff.

This is an example of someone doing what the Pundit's done, and making it work. This is Proof Of Concept. You don't need a big team. You don't need a lot of capital. You don't need to warehouse physical product and deal with distribution. You can focus on product creation first, and then second on marketing that product to your target audience.

As the BROSR shows the way regarding proper play, and other OSR elements show the way forward on other things that matter. Here we have an example on the business side, and that is necessary for the long-term goal of ensuring a hobbyist scene that will still be thriving when D&D turns 100 in 2074.
