My Life As A Writer: Once Again, Cole & Anspach Show The Way

If you haven't seen today's Geek Gab, you should go work on that now. During the show, Nick mentioned the new imprint for Forgotten Ruin and the now-growing array of authors of military weird adventure stories that they've dubbed "Wargate Books".

WarGate Books is a publisher of the Fully Kinetic intersection of Military Thriller and Epic Fantasy. Enter fantastic worlds of intense Imagination conceived by today’s best writers and follow tip of the spear modern military units in their desperate bid to survive and unlock the mystery of these amazingly dangerous worlds. Strap on your plate carrier and get ready to do battle with foes both familiar and new. WarGate lies beyond the borders of reality, where adventure and danger are waiting to be explored.

You will find the landing page for this imprint here.

I am excited to see where this goes, and so are both Nick and Jason. This is a niche that hasn't been exploited much yet--GATE was the only well-known precursor--and as such Nick and Jason expect to dominate this slice of the overall market going forward, which I welcome since Nick and Jason are decent folks with approprate ambitions, and their dedication to thrilling their audiences is something I wholeheartedly support. They are making the entertainment that they want to see, and they are proven that you can make a living doing this.

And if you somehow haven't gotten into Galaxy's Edge, here's that landing page. Enjoy.

The real meat is when Nick gets into the recent hiccup with Amazon, prompting him and Jason to begin moving to diversify away from Amazon and become antifragile in case Amazon decides to screw them over for real next time. That's worth the time spent right there, and if you're also an indie author selling through Amazon then pay attention.
