The Pundit returns with another take on what is wrong with Official D&D.
We OGs told you years ago that Wankers By The Beach would begin scrubbing the official game of anything contrary to Death Cult dogma. Here we are.
They're doing it. They know exactly what they're doing by scrubbing all sense of adventure and morality from the game, as surely as their fellow travelers do in the literature that inspired the game and its entire genre.
The knock-on effect is obvious: they intend the game, in time, to be a game where you go after Wrongthinkers and get rewarded for it and the rest of the time you're virtually engaging in Death Cult ceremony to confirm and celebrate the dogma. Their aim is ultimately the same as this infamous vile thing of a game, and with the same earnest sincerity.
No, I'm not being unfair.
The Pundit's talking about the near-term, where the Death Cultists in charge are stripping out what they hate about the game and replacing it with Bugman hipster bullshit, but the long-term trajectory is clear; the removal of morality now is to make room for the inversion of morality later, and the removal of monster descriptions and moral classifications thereof now is meant to make room for future redefinitions to faciliate the propagandization of Death Cult enemies as the monsters to be hunted, genocided, and looted.
Yes, it is "SJWs Always Project" with extra steps, because a proper DARVO operation takes time to properly execute the "Reverse Victim and Offender" end of things and that's what the present sanitizing is a preliminary step to accomplishing.
Yes, the very "Muh Murderhobo" and "Orcs R Black Pepo!" slurs they throw about now are what they want to put in the game themselves in terms they favor.
These people are telling you exactly who they are by what they accuse us of being. Believe them and act accordingly.
And stop giving money to people who hate you, for starters. You can play D&D without giving Wankers a single penny, and there's plenty of more worthy people (starting with the Pundit) to buy from instead. Here's a sample:
Those are either outright clones or heavily modified from older D&D editions. Basic Fantasy is also free in PDF.
And that means that gatekeeping your table is not only an option, it's a necessity. Don't play with people that hate you, especially since these Death Cultists tend to suck at the game and refuse to Git Gud. Oh, and don't be afraid to use more popular media as a filter; if they freak out over Goblin Slayer, that's a red flag to close the gate.

ReplyDeleteIs Chainmail still available? Jon Mollision is using it in his current wargaming videos.
