My Life In Fandom: New Jim Butcher, Galaxy's Edge Podcast, & More

First, a couple of podcasts. This week's Geek Gab--see you in the chat--and the recent Galaxy's Edge podcast.

And this week's Sabaton History video is about the history of heavy metal as a genre, tied to "Metal Machine" (which is an awesome song).

You'll see a lot of fan-made music videos for "Metal Machine" on YouTube, and some are better than others, but what all of them (save the lyric videos) miss is that this is about the past of heavy metal. The lyrics contain obvious references to both bands normies would recognize and great--but not well-known--bands only folks like Razorfist would immediately pick up upon.

A cheap fan video would intercut the referenced bands performing the referenced songs with Sabaton performing the song. As it is, the best fan videos are the lyric ones; the others can be good for other reasons and other purposes--I watch the AMVs to warm up before writing--but that's the state of the music video-qua-video.

Finally: In Star Knight news, I've contacted everyone up for Build-a-Mech, Build-a-Starship, and Character Illustrations. Those are being dealt with at this time as they come back and ArtAnon's waiting to make them happen.
