My Life In Fandom: At Last A Sign of Sanity in Star Wars

The World Class Bullshitters got this out earlier today. The headline alone is good news.

The news isn't all sunshine and roses, but this is good news. Bob Iger finally did what we expected and reined in Culty Kathy. That he's the face behind these comments and announcements is a sign that someone doesn't want to Go Broke, and we can hope this leads to the house-cleaning that we want done in Lucasfilm for a while now.

Hopefully this is not glad-handing, and we'll soon see if it is or not, but--at the very least--the practice of a film a year will end and that's a good thing; go back to the tri-annual release that Uncle George established and don't do side-stories until your main sequence plan is finished. (Hint: Side Stories are what you do on TV.) It turns out that the return of Clone Wars was more than just a cheap, desperate ploy; it was a sign that sanity was coming back.

  1. Bradford,

So when will Iger fire her and her C suite crew? I bet he saw the merchandise number and had a shitfit. Next is to drop the hammer on Marvel comics and ban the woke creators from ever workin in America?

    1. I can only hope that Iger's seeing what dissidents like the Bullshitters put out there, confirm it with the data he gets internally, and puts 2+2 together to get 4 (and thus fired Kathy and the SJWs with her).

    2. Bradford,

Over at Bounding into comics, Iger left out Rian in his statement which Bounding subtly indicates that he and Kathleen are out of favour. And possibly fired.
I don't think they are yet because the inhouse laywers are reading every punctuation mark and square millimetre of their contracts to be sure.
The other problem is Iger has to head off any stockholder revolt over his fiducary duties. Because if I were a major shareholder, I"d ask him point blank to his face why he didn't immediately fire those 2 after the Force awakens given the obvious customer outrage.
He's no moron but he sure acted like a doofus.
