The Business: There Is No Post-D&D Hobby Because D&D IS The Hobby

Pundit's not the only one cutting videos like this.

I'll quote one of the Comments: "Post D&D world? Try finding players for a non D&D game, nearly impossible. It's even less likely if you are a player looking for a non D&D game master. D&D never needed first party support, most people are making and playing homebrew. WotCs products are bad but the game is still good, its not going anywhere."

D&D is the hobby, like it or not. Every last also-ran and never-were knows this, and seethes about it.

Diamond's collapse doesn't threaten D&D. The tariffs don't threaten D&D. The fuckery WOTC repeated pulled has not and does not threaten D&D. D&D cannot die now. WOTC has what they wanted: a property that they can merely keep available and in the public eye on the cheap that they can reap recurring revenue from and leverage for Lifestyle Brand deals in perpetuity. Lester Del Ray--the man responsible for making "Tolkieneuqse" fantasy a thing--wishes he had this going for him.

You're not going to get anything, not even World of Warcraft or Warhammer, to replace D&D as the hobby anymore than D&D could replace WOW in MMOs. Stop trying.

We are not going to see D&D go away. Everything else will die off first. Instead, what we will see--are seeing--is retrenchment on the proven pillar propping it all up, and I will be glad to take your apologies when I am proven right yet again.
