Alexander Macris hosted John C. Wright last night.
I write a lot about gaming, but let's not forget about the media that inspired the Tabletop Adventure Games we play.
John C. Wright is a living grandmaster author, and his latest novel--the first in a series--is his own reaction to the Devil Mouse's defilement of Uncle George's Space Opera, but also informed by the Pulps that directly influenced George and informed his own sense of adventure and wonder.
As for the question of playing a Space Opera, I want to put forth another consideration. If you're leaning more on knightly romance, consider adapting Pendragon.
