Jeffro ain't being humble about what he's done. Nor should he. Undoing generations of damage in a tenth of the time is amazing. After his call for more people to make use of Braunstein in their games, people that are not Bros are reporting back.
One of the guys doing one is Mike Scutifer. Check out what he has to say about his game that is currently in progress:
- “Everybody’s asking me… so, what do you think this player would do? What do you think this player wants?”
- “It has been SO FUN playing this Braunstein.”
- “Everybody’s texting me, what do you think they would do if…? And I’m like, I’M NOT SAYING ANYTHING. I’m not giving you guys anything. You get no clues as what the other nobles are doing. You only get to guess or trust that your alliances are going to hold. And EVERYBODY has been having a blast.
- “The most common text I am getting right now is THIS IS SO FUN, WE GOTTA DO THIS ALL THE TIME.”
- “We’re just playing Dungeons & Dragons by the rules. But like, there’s something different about controlling armies and the fog of war that is keeping these people stirred up. I didn’t sleep very much last night; all I could think about was am I going to be betrayed!?”
This is the most positive feedback that anyone has ever gotten for a game design concept. This is amazing. Something really extraordinary is happening here and we are only just now beginning to get a handle on it.
Yeah, Jeffro's got every right to put on the smug face.
Because he's getting independent confirmation by people who aren't even close to the Bros. He has every right to say it's confirmed now- because it is.
Soon a lot more people will proclaim #ThankYouJeffro for bringing back the missing magic that makes the hobby work as intended.
