The Culture: Things Bros Are Taking Off The Table (Part Four: "I'm OK, You're OK" Bullshit)

Yep, another Roll For Combat stream. Also another example that Conventional Play (a) admits that it's dysfunctional but (b) can't unfuck itself and remain Conventional Play.

This stream, past streams, and every other Conventional Play twat out there cannot help but to admit and mouth adherance to this tenet of the Cargo Cult: "There is no One Game. How I play and how you play is okay."

Then they go online and drop video after video, post after post, /tg/ thread after thread (which become videos for Neckbeardia) complaining about what becomes of this crap.

And man I am not the only one that's tired of that bullshit.

They say it purely to avoid admitting that their own refusal to play the actual game, the one in the manuals, is the source of all their problems.

Problems that the Bros do not have because--SURPRISE, SURPRISE--those problems never happen when you learn, master, and apply the rules of the game that you claim to be playing exactly as you are instructed to do.

If that product you claim is a game does not do this, you don't have a game- you have a Sales Funnel meant to do a Dan Lok number on your life and finances. Seriously, your typical Conventional Play product would be exposed as a scam if it were any other business.

"Just-"

Bright, front and center.

No, you are not okay if you don't play the game as it is written and presented to you. No, you are not okay if you fuck with things instead of using a different tool to do the job; this isn't even Chesterton's Fence, this is Use The Right Tool For The Job. If that takes you out of Current Edition's User Network, too fucking bad.

You can talk about The Fence once you can prove that you actually know what you're talking about. As that means catching up to the Bros Godot will arrive first so I won't bother waiting for either of you. I have games to win.

And you designers are no better. I'm done tolerating your non-games, and I will continue telling people to stop wasting their time and money on your crap until you either fuck off for good or you repent and make real games that can justify their existence. As most liminal spaces in this medium are already filled, good luck on your Quixotic quest.

Oh, and I still see no strategy for dealing with Sorcerors By The Sea taking The Only Game That Matters out of Tabletop entirely. If you can't be bothered to make and act on a plan, then you deserve to go under and suffer for it.
