The Business: One Pozzed Gatekeeper Replacing Another?

The RPG Pundit points out a possible problem in the making.

Let us not miss that Paizo is wholly converged by the SJW Death Cult. Many of those who immediatley signed on to Paizo's replacement for the OGL are just as bad.

In terms of Revolutionary Dynamics, Paizo is the leader of the cohort of Elites who are opposed to the existing Elite cohort (again, confirming Elite Theory, for all my fellow dissidents out there).

Both cohorts adhere to the SJW Death Cult; this is about power, not doctrine.

Therefore the Pundit--not a Death Cultists--is right to be concerned that Paizo would seek to erect themselves as the gatekeepers of the tabletop RPG medium and its business by means of "morality clauses" in their license agreement, and couple that with a shadow enforcement mechanism--which is also the same that Wankers aimed to use: deplatforming--due to Seattle being lousy with SJW Death Cult convergence in all its public and private institutions.

Which includes all sorts of tech companies, such as Microsoft and Amazon, and strong influence over existing storefront platforms as well as tech platforms outside of Seattle; there is a real fear that if such a regime is installed then they will choke off those that they don't like, those that resist, and so on.

The problem is that, as with the OGL, Paizo (et. al.) would find out just how short their reach actually is. Dancey explains in this clip.

This means that my posts on exploiting international regulatory arbitrage are validated; go read them. (Yes, this means that the Pundit has some first-hand experience with this sort of thing; he's in one country, and his games are published in another.)

Why take the risk? You are hoping that people who hate you are willing to not fuck with you because you don't violate The Narrative today, a Narrative that can turn on a dime and thus tomorrow you can be Worse Than An Austrian Painter.

At the very least, cease this license faggotry. Game mechanics cannot be copywritten; shun the trademarks and you'll be fine. (If they could, Palladium Books would not exist.) You can get a lot closer than you think and still be within law and treaty without using any license.

Don't rely on Amazon, DriveThru, or any other storefront that you don't control- especially if you're looking to make a living doing this. Erect your own; it's not as hard as you think, or as expensive, especially if you're primarily doing digital publishing. If Chris Gonnerman can figure out how to have a place to get product out that he controls, so can you.

In the meantime, enjoy the show- from a safe distance.

There is no reason at all for any group like this to say anything about tabletop RPGs unless they are looking at intervening. Wankers just got told to get their shit together or else.

If the Pundit hadn't dropped that video, I would have already returned to talking about #BROSR topics, and I will tomorrow.
