Narrative Warfare: When You See The Cult Groupthink In RPGs Get Activated

Compared to the big thinks I put up at Empire Must Fall, the Narrative Warfare here seems small. It is not. This is how the Death Cult operates at the street level when it conducts Narrative Warfare.

It "discovers" things that run contrary to its preferred narrative, deliberately memory-holes its enemies (who did the discovering), and then applies the Narrative Warfare version of "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" to destroy the threat to the narrative and bring it back under Cult control.

Neither the soyface that Jeffro directly linked nor the channel said soyfaced referenced--Questing Beast--are the sort to deliberately and consciously enact Cult narrative control. I doubt they even understand what I'm talking about. Instead, they are the sort that are plugged into the hive mind and thus have a sense of where the narrative is going in the same manner that most fish in a school know which way to go.

My take is that both he and Beast are signalling back to the group that this narrative violation exists and are coyly suggesting the Three E approach to deal with it because look at how the soyface balks around the 12 minute mark at the implications. Beast isn't that different. We'll know for certain when some Designated Mouthpiece of the Cult steps up and gives an Official Opinion that Cultists are then expected to parrot like they're CCP officials required to keep up with Winnie The Pooh's thoughts (or the Official Word out of D.C./London/Brussels for Globohomo actors).

We'll see soon how this shakes out, but as the #BROSR grows in influence expect to see more of this sort of thing out of the enemy camp as an attempt to destroy the threat to their control over the narrative--over what is said about RPGs generally and D&D in particular--and thus over what is and is not considered "best practices" for RPGs (and thus hold control over this for the Death Cult).

We're getting on their radar now. That means we are a threat in a very real way, a way that the OSR is not, and we better be ready for it.
