The Pundit cut a video that you may find amusing.
The list in question is available here. Save a copy of your own if you like.
The reactions are as Pundit says, down to people making RPGSite accounts just to shit on it, and by this behavior they (a) validate the list, (b) confirm the necessity of the list's existence, and (c) show just how deep into the groupthink the enemy is while (d) revealing that they wish they did this first so they could weaponize it against their enemies.
Pundit's not that vindictive, but the result is the same nonetheless. The reality is that the Death Cultists in the business are deliberately pushing polarization in an attempt to compel obedience to the cult via gaslighting and social media swarming. They do this to disguise their actual position, which this list makes clear: only one company that actually matters (WOTC), a few also-rans, and a pile of irrelevant never-weres with delusions of grandeur.
Meanwhile, the very fact that there are considerable numbers of clean alternatives--with more growing by the day--shows how weak the position in tabletop gaming actually is and as this exposure spreads it will exert a counter-force. Devoted cultists will not care and gleefully will crash their ships and go down with all hands, but where they do not have total control this will provide impetus to either purge them or flee before the crash hits and reform as a clean alternative.
In short, this list is part of what is needed to making a Fork & Replace strategy work; the audience has to be aware that there alternatives to be had, and thus be directed towards, something the cult fears and this reaction proves it- most importantly by vandalizing the previous version of this list.
Pundit may not be as vindictive as the Death Cult, but others are not so forgiving- and with good reason.
Spread the word--and the link--and encourage others to do likewise (and save their own copy to share).
