The Culture: No One Like The Starbucks Dungeon

Wednesday night on Dunder Moose, it was all about adventure sites.

There's a lot of crap out there.

It's good that someone's bothering to sift the wheat from the chaff, but far more important is the need to hammer what makes something good.

  • GET TO THE FUCKING POINT!
  • No extraneous information: if it's not directly and immediately relevant, cut it.
  • Stand-Alone Content: the site by itself needs to have a plausible and compelling reason for delving it.
  • Risk vs. Reward: needs to be done as clear as possible, and the reward must be far greater as the risk gets higher.
  • Mapped: There needs to be complete, keyed top-down maps for use by the Referee (and playable on the table) and an Appendix with the relevant details.

You're going there because there's something there to explore. You're not going there because someone else either is there or wants you to go there. You're doing this because it is there, and it may be the location of something you want (or want to kill).

It's that simple.

Pay attention to the format of this site challenge. Even if you don't enter it, that's a good model to focus your efforts through.
