My Life In Fandom: Gridman Fans Also Got Good News

This past weekend also saw another big mecha announcement for a more recent re-creation.

This should not be a surprise. SSSS.Gridman was a big hit, and TV series that hit usually get movie-length follow-ups of some sort. I am pleased nonetheless at this announcement, and I hope that Dynazenon gets this treatment also in the near future.

If you like your Super Robots, both of these are worth your time, especially if you're also a Tokukatsu fan since Gridman was originally a Toku show in the style of Ultraman and Dynazenon follows that aesthetic.

Between this and the Grendizer announcement and the success of Getter Robo Arc we have reason to hope for the future of Super Robot stories. What's needed now is more all-new Super Robot stories made by people that get what Super Robot stories are and demonstrating supreme skill at the craft, but are not Cargo Cult retreads of what went before.

But that is a challenge that those who know the power of Photon Energy and Believe In Getter don't shy away from.
