The Pundit brings good news: a failure to cancel for Wrongthink.
As the Pundit explains, the Death Cultists in tabletop RPGs failed to maintain Cult discipline recently and the Streisand Effect kicked in to demonstrate superior benefits for defying the Cult than obeying it. Because this particular wing of the Cult isn't as powerful as its fellow travelers elsewhere, its ability to inflict pain is severely limited at present. So long as that remains the case, the long road leads away from the Cult and back to sanity; efforts should instead focus on outreach to those wanting a cheaper D&D, a cleaner D&D, etc. so as to nip away at the mindshare for Official D&D and thereby open the way for Games Other Than D&D.
This may not seem like much, but I take this as a leading indicator that the present push does have limits and those limits are going to be reached sooner than later, which will require one of two things to happen. The one we prefer is that the wave crashes and recedes. The other is that the enemy changes up its operations to regain the initative and bring new energy to the fight.
We'll see soon enough if the Cultists go the latter route if we see them exert stricter control over what distribution channels exist for RPG products, go harder after crowdfunds, go hard on defamations campaigns (and if they do this, and it's not a criminal offense where you live, sue them), and put out hit media on wrongthinkers.
But, for now, we have a win. Enjoy it.
