The second preview for Super Robot Wars 20 dropped the other day, clipped out of a livestream announcing the PV and updates on the game. (Which is here, in Japanese.) The trailer is in Japanese; as soon as an English subtitled version is available, I'll edit it in.
As with the three previous mainline games, it's clear which titles got the bulk of the animation budget and this time it's SSSS.Gridman followed by returning classics like Combattler V with some additional work going into their Original Generation units (and some surprises as Lelouche and CC's unit, which wasn't like that in the recent movie).
The big takeaway here is that your home battleship has a seperate upgrade system. This is new; previously, it was no different than the mecha and its key officers no different from other pilots. Now it's branched into its own subsystem, making it feel a lot more like a moving base of operations and less like a vulnerable support unit that occasionally weighs in with big guns. (If you want to know why Yamato and Arcadia felt so different, it's because of their Hero Ship status; they got the Star Unit treatment in V and T.)
More will become apparent when the English version gets online, at which time I'll come back and add more to this post (and relink it).
But yeah, this game will look to be worth the price including the DLC--and there's plenty of it--so it's on my Steam Wish List and I hope to get it for my (soon) birthday or Christmas.
