So...what happened to all those Anitubers who made those "What happened to Mecha anime" or "The Fall of Mecha" videos?

Waiting for a certain AniTube podcast to signal that they complete fail to see the obvious with this announcement.
Sure, it's been a while since we've been seeing a release schedule like this, and much of what has come out got dominated by Gundam, followed by Macross, and it's been nice to see some anniversary productions like the recent Mazinger Z film but there's been precious little original work. I already mentioned Boundary War Machine yesterday, and some of them may not live up to the hype, but that's the business; lots of shounen and moe blob shows don't hit either, so mecha ain't any different.
Here's to the hope of every new release succeeding, relative to its aims, as the Evangelion film has- if not better.
