Don't ignore them. Don't just laugh. When they do this, it's them attempting to usurp status that they have not earned and do not merit. It exposes them as hostile predatory outsiders that don't belong. Mock them on these points, and be cruel about it; this is literal "be cruel (to your enemies) to be kind (to your friends)" territory, and your life will be better for it.
