You're Not Fixing The Problem By Whining, Alt-Media

Time to call some folks who ought to know better out. Let's let the IDF's best SF author state it plainly.

This is a problem of increasingly relevance. Too much whining, and not enough seeking alternatives to promote. Guess what, gang? You don't need to be the establishment media, or even Alex Jones, to be a player that matters anymore. You just need a few thousand people who are willing to heed you when you make a recommendation, and while that does take some work--and YouTube ain't helping nobody do that anymore--it is doable in a reasonable amount of time at a reasonable pace. Once a week over a couple of years, and some assists from other players, and there you go.

But folks aren't using those things they built to find solutions to the problems they whine about. They're just whining, while giving money to people who hate them, and thus at best are merely not making things worse. World Class Bullshitters, Geeks & Gamers, Midnight's Edge, Templin Institute, Spacedock, Eckhart's Ladder, and many more channels and outfits like (e.g. Gigguk) aren't willing to do anything useful to fix the problems. Vox Day does. That's why he's the threat and the rest are sometimes called grifters.

Look, when I'm doing more for discoverability than these folks--who have audiences an order of magnitude greater than I--and Nick Rekieta--who is on their level--can do so almost on accident by having Doug Tenapel on, then someone's sleeping on the job and it's neither Nick nor I. It's them, and it's time to start asking them why they aren't out solving the problem by using their platform to bring alternatives to the Mouse, to Woke Marvel, to Woke DC, or whatever SJW garbagefest is the topic of bitching today, before that audience that's being shat upon.

When Superversive Press does more to promote authors making their own Star Wars than the biggest Star Wars fan channels, that's a fucking problem. By now, World Class Bullshitters should be on best-buddies basises with Nick Cole and Jason Anspach. They only know of Yakov because he is (was?) a Patreon of theirs and used a perk to get on their show to promote his stuff.

When Brian Niemeier's blog is a far more routine source of good analysis and criticism on how to go about dealing with what the SJWs converge, and why, then you guys who go on for hours at a time about how bad things got--with video and data backing it up--then that failure is on you.

When Daddy Warpig's off-the-cuff rants does more to crystalize an issue and show a way out of the problem, that's a failure on you in the alt-media to connect alternatives to that audience that you're also benefiting from.

When your own original stuff looks like it'll come out sometime between the release of Cyberfrog and Godot's arrival, yet you ignore even big stuff like Axanar's recent updates--they're shooting, gang--then you're doing your audience a disservice.

In short, stop ignoring the very people trying to solve the problems you make bank whining about. You're not helping; you really are grifting, and that's never a good look even if you mean well. You want to be of service to your audience? Get in touch with we who are producing the stuff that wants to replace the woke crap you complain about, have us on, and help us to help you; it's the Parable of the Spoons, gang, and you're still trying to feed yourselves while starving.

We're here. Come talk to us already.
