The plan is not final. As of now, it is this:
- Disperse Content Into Silos w/ Paywall Functionality
- Set up on Substack (DONE; necessary to subscribe to others' article feeds, such as Dvaid Stewart's).
- Set up multiple article feeds, one per content silo.
- Set up on Patreon/Subscribestar/etc. (see below)
- Once everything is set up, move existing content to the new silos (and clean things up).
- When complete ask existing audience to migrate from Blogger to (Destination), and let the Blogger account go fallow for a time to allow for user migration.
- At a predetermined time, wipe the account; it will be retained purely for reading others' blogs.
The general policy, at this time, is this: "Complaints are free; solutions are paywalled."
Why? Simple. The posts that complain get far more traffic than the posts that proffer solutions to those complaints. In short, the meme is true.

Also, just because a reader shares the complaint doesn't mean that he shares the solution; he may prefer another option, or already has one that works, and thus does not care to read about others.
Also free will be any promotion of others, such as if I promoted one of Jeffro's Session Reports; if said other has things to sell, I reserve the right to use an affilate link. Such links, if present, will be disclosed because I can do better than a "games journalist" in terms of ethics.
For those wanting to play the role of a patron without directly connecting to any given thing I do, that's what I'm looking to Patreon (etc.) to do since Substack allows for very direct patronage via subscription to access paywalled articles- and the paywalls can be done like jumpcuts here, where there is a free-to-read section and then what's behind the cut is paywalled. (Imperium Press does this a lot.)
(N.B.: I am aware that Patron/Subscribestar also allows for paywalling content.)
You'll note that this plan is not final. That's because, being a big move (in online terms), it is not to be taken lightly; consider this as request for feedback, especially from those who've already done it successfully.
I would like to finalize the move plan and execute it before the end of the year. I would also prefer to discuss this privately hereafter; most of you who are on Substack, Patreon, etc. already have direct channels with me- and if not, email is in the Contact tab on the Home page.
P.S.: There is no post on Empire this week. Readers will be redirected here.
