Pundit talks WOTC and Mouse Wars.
Is he correct? Yes.
Will it matter? No.
This will do fine, despite itself, and satisfy WOTC and Disney's expectations. There's more than enough people who will get it, use it (some straight, some after modification), and be satisfied with it that condemnation will do nothing.
And once people realize that they can mix in WOW stuff with D&D and Mouse Wars, that's when It Gets Worse.
